AirAsia Challenges Aussies to Explore New Destinations

AirAsia invites Australian travelers to swap their flight tickets and discover lesser-known destinations across Asia.

AirAsia is daring Australian travelers to step out of their comfort zones with its latest promotional campaign, ‘Barter For Better’, which allows travelers to swap their existing international flight bookings for new destinations within the AirAsia network.

On October 19, 2024, the low-cost carrier will be at Sydney’s Westfield Chatswood Shopping Center from 11:00 to 17:00 local time, offering those with existing flight bookings the opportunity to fly to new and exciting locations across Asia or beyond.

Paul Carroll, Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia Aviation Group, explained that many Australian tourists tend to favor popular holiday spots like Bali and Phuket. However, the airline is encouraging travelers to explore lesser-known destinations within its network of over 130 locations.

Asia is a popular choice for budget-conscious travelers who still want to go overseas, and AirAsia offers great value fares to support that,” Carroll said in a statement.

“Through this unique campaign, we want to show that there is much more to Asia, with so many undiscovered gems for travelers to experience something new,” Carroll added.

Even those without existing flight bookings will have chances to win travel prizes, such as gift cards from Klook and AirAsia merchandise.

This promotional event is part of AirAsia’s broader ‘Go Somewhere Different’ campaign, designed to highlight Asia’s hidden treasures that many Australian travelers may not yet know about.
